Taste of Hudson Valley Bounty Dinner The Locavore’s Culinary Event of the Season

Chatham, NY - On Monday, August 6th from 5-8pm, the culinary event of the season for locavores will take place when the Taste of Hudson Valley Bounty dinner serves up great food at the Columbia County Fairgrounds. This annual get together is a showcase for all that is great about food in the Hudson Valley, and the Columbia County Fairgrounds is the perfect backdrop to help us spread the word about the importance of local foods and products.

The event will feature “tastes” of over 30 different delightful recipes including everything from appetizers and salads to main courses, desserts and even wines and beers. “The night will be filled with excellent cuisine,” says Program Director Kristin Roca, “The whole point of this event is to let the public know what a great assortment of local food is available right in our own backyard and which great restaurants and chef’s are using them regularly. ”

This year the restaurants that will be creating dishes are: Helsinki Hudson, Crimson Sparrow, The Old Chatham Country Store, Carlucci Simons Catering, Local 111, Noble Pies, Crossroads Foodshop, Vanderbilt House, The Tavern at the Beekman Arms, Gigi Hudson Valley, Blue Plate, The Stissing House, The Cascades, American Glory, Georgia Rays Kitchen, Arturo's Restaurant, The Carolina House and more.

Guests will get a chance to stroll from table to table, sampling dishes created by these all star chefs from our area.
Chef Brian Albert of the Old Chatham Country Store will be making a Crab and Watermelon Tostada,
Chef Steven McKay from Arturo's Restaurant will be serving up Pesto Tofu with local roasted vegetable and beet potato salad, Georgia Ray's Kitchen will be serving Apple Beignets w/powdered sugar & Pulled Pork Sliders w/Cajun slaw.
Two of our restaurants are returning with their signature dishes; Blue Plate's chef Leo will be making their signature Gazpacho dish and The Cascades restaurant will be bringing their famous Uncle Barry's Waffles.

Each chef's creation will be a locavore's dream as they are paired with local farmers and using local products.
Along with our chef's we will also be having local cheese artisans, wineries and breweries; Tousey winery, Hudson Chatham Winery and Brookview Station and Chatham Brewing along with Coach Cheese and Beth's Farm Kitchen will be on hand for the event. The entire evening is a locavore's dream and will delight your senses.

Hudson Valley Bounty, a program of the Hudson Valley Agribusiness Development Corporation, has a mission to educate the community about the preservation of local farms through the purchase and use of local and regional sustainable foods and products throughout the entire Hudson Valley. The program also promotes and supports networking connections between local agricultural producers and culinary businesses. And that is what the Taste of Hudson Valley Bounty Dinner is all about. This is the culinary event of the season for Locavores and a “must” for foodies, passionate cooks, and gardeners. Tickets can be purchased on line at www.hudsonvalleybounty.com or obtained at the door. They are $75 for adults, ($50.00 for HVB members), Children 12 and under are $25.00. There is limited to space so advance ticket purchase is recommended.
